A Traditional Way to Decorate Your Home for Christmas

One of the most popular holidays is Christmas, no matter the faith or religion. The weather is noticeably colder, it’s almost the end of the calendar year, and many homes in Orlando are decked out with holiday or Christmas decorating. It’s hard to deny the fact that the holidays have always been a time to share and show our love for our families and friends.

Around The Christmas Tree

In many households, the most common style of Christmas decorating would be to include a Christmas tree into the mix. The Christmas tree is usually the central point from which we celebrate the holidays at home. It is where we generally sing holiday carols as well as give and receive presents from our loved ones. When it comes to selecting the right tree to use, there are two general types to choose from.

Real Trees

The first type of tree comes from Mother Nature. If you go this route, be sure to select a tree that still has some greens on it. The key is to be able to tell which tree has been freshly cut. You typically don’t want to go for a tree that won’t make it through to January 1st. For this kind, be sure that you examine the needles to see if they are dull and ‘lifeless-looking’ which indicates age.

Plastic Trees

While we recommend a real tree because of the fresh scent and better overall experience, using a plastic Christmas tree can be another option. This is an ideal choice when you are in a highly congested area or a building that doesn’t allow living trees. The advantage of plastic trees is that they obviously never rot, and you could spend more time Christmas decorating around the tree and home.

Other Common Christmas Decorations

In addition to the Christmas tree, there are other decorations that can be utilized for a more memorable holiday. These include:

Wreaths

The Christmas Wreath is another way to ‘greenify’ your Christmas decorating. Although the wreath has Christian roots, it is still a great way to decorate your home for Christmas. It is a plant ring composed of twigs, flowers, fruits, and leaves.

Garlands

The Christmas Garland is similar to a wreath being composed of flowers, fruits, and leaves. You can also form a Christmas Garland into a ring; however it is usually strewn across horizontally when used as a decoration.

Christmas decorating is only a part of the holiday we all come home for. The more important aspect that makes the holiday what it is, are the loved ones we all spend it with. Furthermore, decorations will only set the ambiance of your Christmas holiday, but the success of the event will be determined by the amount of love you share with each other.
